About this event

We need your help at our Lower Constellation site within the Upper Newport Bay to restore native biodiversity. Your contributions will help foster a safe and habitable environment for the many species that call the Bay home, including the federally threatened California Gnatcatcher. Volunteer activities are seasonal and may include the following:

• Removing non-native plant species

• Planting species native to California

• Watering and habitat maintenance

• Trash cleanup

No experience needed! NBC staff will be ready to teach you all about ecological restoration. All tools and supplies will be provided.

Minimum Age: 13 years old

Minors must have a legal guardian present at all times.

What to Wear/Bring

Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Hiking shoes or mud boots are recommended. Mud boots can be provided upon request. Breathable long sleeves, pants, a hat, water bottle, and sunscreen are recommended.

Bring a friend and join us in restoring a native habitat!

In Partnership with
