Los Cerritos Wetlands Habitat Restoration

About this event

Families can roll up their sleeves and help restore a real Southern California wetland with the Aquarium of the Pacific and the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority. The work focuses on removing non-native weeds and protecting rare native plants across this coastal habitat that spans Long Beach and Seal Beach.

Trained naturalists and local educators lead the morning, so kids learn about the plants and wildlife of the wetlands while they work. It is a hands-on way to spend a Saturday outdoors and give back to the local environment.

Wear closed-toe shoes (required), a hat and sunscreen, and bring a reusable water bottle, since this is a plastic water bottle-free event. Participants are eligible to win a free Aquarium ticket and other prizes.
