SCV & SCVC27 One-Day Clinic & Audition – SoCal

About this event

This event is a one-day clinic and audition camp at Damien High School in La Verne, CA for brass, percussion, and color guard . This event provides education with the opportunity to advance in the audition process for the Santa Clara Vanguard and/or the Vanguard Cadets. Registration closes at 12:00 AM on Sunday, November 8th.

How to prepare for this audition camp:

Packets and letters from caption managers can be found in the ticket receipt email confirmation once you submit your registration.

What if I don’t feel ready to audition, but I still want to learn?

When you register for this event, you will have the opportunity to let us know why you’re attending: Auditioning for the Santa Clara Vanguard, Auditioning for the Vanguard Cadets, Open to either group, or just attending for the education and experience!

Liability Forms: Please make sure you complete the VMAPA liability form prior to arrival (link to submit for 18 and older can be found in the ticket receipt; 17 and under will be emailed the form directly to your email and the parent email you provide).

Check In: Check in will be in the lobby of the gymnaium. Please make sure you have completed the liability form prior to check-in so we can keep the line moving efficiently.

Schedule: Check in and truck unload will begin at 8:00 AM and we will have a full opening meeting in the gym at 8:45 AM . Brass will begin in music, guard will begin in the gym, and percussion will begin in sectionals. Brass will break for lunch at 12:30 PM and start back up in visual in the gym at 1:30 PM , while percussion and guard will break for lunch at 1:00 PM . Guard will resume in the stadium at 2:00 PM and percussion will continue in sectionals. Lunch will be provided on-site for you. We are expecting a beautiful day with clear skies and temperatures between 60º and 80º F, so dress appropriately as much of the audition will happen outside. At 5:00 PM , your staff will dismiss from your rehearsal at which time you will assist in cleaning and loading the truck prior to leaving campus. Everyone should be picked up or cleared of campus no later than 6:00 PM . You can expect to receive live feedback on your skills, but a decision to move forward in the audition process or not will come to you via email later in the week

Campus Map and Parking: Below is a campus map of Damien High School. You can park in the lot marked on the map on the West side of campus. Do NOT park where the Equipment Truck is parking in the North lot!

Equipment: Equipment will be provided for you by SCV. Please remember to treat all equipment and instruments with respect at all times.

For the Santa Clara Vanguard, you should expect feedback and grades in the days following your audition.

For the Vanguard Cadets, you should expect feedback and grades in the days following your audition.
