Humidity could fall into the teens in some valleys. Recent rain helped, but live fuel moisture is still between 65% and 80%. Red flag warnings cover parts of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

  • Saturday gusts: 25 to 40 mph in wind-prone areas
  • Chance of 35 to 50 mph gusts Saturday: 10%
  • Beach Hazards Statement: late Thursday night to Tuesday morning
  • Peak tides Sunday and Monday: 7.2 to 7.6 feet

The heat peaks Sunday before a cooldown and possible rain

  1. Nov. 6Offshore flow strengthens; Orange County highs reach the low and mid-80s.
  2. Nov. 7Santa Anas peak, with gusts of 25 to 40 mph in wind-prone areas.
  3. Nov. 8Temperatures peak, with Irvine forecast to reach 89.
  4. Nov. 9A gradual cooling trend begins.
  5. Nov. 13Rain is possible over the weekend of Nov. 13 and 14.

Heading to the coast? We suggest staying out of the water near rock jetties, where a west-to-northwest swell raises the risk of hazardous swimming and coastal flooding. A possible atmospheric river could follow, though meteorologist Rich Thompson said details are iffy.
